Stellar Instruments CM910 Flexible 3000A AC Clamp Meter (18" Coil)

The Stellar CM910 is a portable True RMS current meter for safe and convenient AC current measurement up to 3000 A. Its flexible Rogowski-style coil wraps easily around large conductors, busbars and cables, including places where a conventional clamp meter cannot fit.

Features:

  • True RMS (TRMS) AC current measurement
  • Three current ranges: 30 A / 300 A / 3000 A AC
  • Resolution: 0.01 A / 0.1 A / 1 A
  • Accuracy: ±(3% rdg + 5 digits)
  • Frequency range: 45-500 Hz
  • Flexible coil diameter: 8.5 mm, double insulated

1. What is the CM910 used for?

It measures AC current in cables, busbars and large conductors. The flexible Rogowski coil wraps around conductors that a conventional rigid clamp meter cannot fit around.

2. What is the maximum current it can measure?

Up to 3000 A AC, across three ranges: 30 A, 300 A and 3000 A. Resolution is 0.01 A, 0.1 A and 1 A respectively.

3. Can it measure DC current?

No. The CM910 measures AC current only, in the 45-500 Hz frequency range. For DC current you would need a different type of meter.

4. How accurate is it?

Accuracy is ±(3% of reading + 5 digits). Position sensitivity is ±3%, so for the best result keep the coil centered around the conductor and away from other current-carrying cables.

5. What does True RMS mean, and why does it matter?

True RMS (TRMS) meters calculate the real effective value of the current, even when the waveform is distorted rather than a clean sine wave. This gives more reliable readings on loads such as VFDs, LED drivers and other electronic equipment.

6. What power and physical specifications should I know about?

  • Battery: 2 × 1.5 V AAA
  • Display: 4-digit LCD, maximum reading 3150
  • Sampling rate: 2 readings per second
  • Coil diameter: 8.5 mm, double insulated
  • Dimensions: 120 × 70 × 26 mm
  • Weight: 286 g
